Welcome to the Northern New York Linux Users Group!

Whether you're brand new to Linux or just beginning to explore beyond the basics, this group is here to help you get comfortable and confident. Linux can feel overwhelming at first, with its unfamiliar commands, distributions, and terminology, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. This community exists to make that journey smoother and more enjoyable. It’s a place to connect with others who are learning, experimenting, and sometimes breaking things (and fixing them again). If you’re willing to learn, ask questions, and try things out, you’re in the right place.

We welcome Linux enthusiasts of all skill levels: whether you're hitting the command line for the first time or recompiling the kernel for seven thousandth time– come join us!
